turns out not, as expected--it was named in honor of a Chinese statesman and general who'd been dead for almost a century
wonder if he would have liked the dish or not
seems like he was a pretty mixed influence on the country at the time though, he was involved in replacing the opium-based agriculture in parts of the country with cotton farming, which i don't think anyone can say is a bad thing, but he was also involved in quelling peasant uprisings by force so not exactly a paragon
