@Felthry maybe it was to fulfill some sort of shipping regulation? (also i kinda miss SD cards...)
@windyorigami Miss them? Why?
Or do you mean the full-size ones?
@windyorigami Mm. I don't know; we haven't upgraded our phone in a while, and that's about the only thing that's really commonly using SD cards of any type, outisde of specialty devices. Oh, and the nintendo switch
@windyorigami Our current laptop doesn't, but they do still make ones that do. We were able to find a good usb-c sd card reader for cheap, though.
@Felthry *facepaw* i just remembered my current one actually does have a (full-size) SD card reader. haven't really used it though. sorry.
@windyorigami ahah, no need to apologize for something like that! But yeah, it seems like they're one of those things that's... not quite the "useless until you get to something that definitely needs it", but not far from there.
@Felthry i mean, it /could/ be used as an external storage medium...
@windyorigami it could! I think USB flash drives are more common for that right now, just out of convenience.
@Felthry *nods* most phones have ditched the microSD slots recently. i remember some older laptops having SD slots, but the last one i remember using that had that was either made in 2014 or 2009.
