we need to print a form

but it won't print right

the barcode gets replaced with a bunch of numbers, and check boxes are replaced with placeholder characters

does anyone have any idea how to get it to print properly?

That sounds like a font problem. Here's what I'd do - zoom as far in on the thing you need to print as possible and take a screenshot (the zoom is to get it as high-resolution as possible). Then print the screenshot.

This is just because font problems are annoying to debug, and I don't know what program isn't seeing what font where in order to make it work. Although if it's a web-based form, I'd see if you're blocking a script that might load the font with the bar codes and checkboxes in it. That is a longshot, but could be what's going on.

@dodec oh i forgot to say that this was solved--turns out pdf.js (the thing waterfox uses to open pdfs) is buggy when printing, using a different pdf program fixed it

Heh. So my intuition about it being a Javascript issue was right after all. Good to know it's solved, though!
