why do some people abbreviate boost as "RT"

@Felthry "evolutionary baggage" "RT" stands for "retweet", a function very similar to boosting.

@Felthry@awoo.space [humorous answer] it's short for Rootin' Tootin' and expresses the excitement the person wants to share and is a play on "toot", the word used for posting by one early popular piece of fediverse software. For more though you'd want to ask the inventor of the RT, Hatsune Miku.
