@Felthry Super Mario 3D world. 3D Land gets a pass (sorta) because it's for a handheld, but World's on a console, and doesn't have that excuse. it just feels... devoid of soul.
64 pioneered , Sunshine provided beautiful environments and novel gameplay, the Galaxy duology had a grand sense of adventure and fun. but 3d world, was just... there.
it wasn't /bad/ but it wasn't anything really special. it was just a shinier version of 3D Land with a couple of new gimmicks.
(additionally, i feel like it was the start of Rosalina going from "most developed character in the series" to "just another character to play as in spinoffs")
