If a poorly-thought-out tabletop game says something about "the opposite sex" or "the opposite gender" (when talking about the opposite of a binary individual, let's say), does it:
@Felthry My reading of this is that it probably concerns physical attraction and is just incorrectly assuming everyone is straight and binary. If we remove that assumption, it therefore depends more on the the subject's sexual orientation or lack thereof than anything else.
@Felthry Like, for example, if it gives you a +2.718 bonus to negotiation rolls when buying something from "the opposite sex", it'd more properly read "from people who would normally be attracted to what outwardly appears to be your species and gender (or who don't care about either), and who would be willing to try and gain your favour in this way."

@Felthry A lot of Magic cards specify "his or her" when talking about players, so I guess nonbinary people are immune to most spells.
