selenium is named after the moon but has nothing to do with it, just like how uranus isn't made of uranium and pluto isn't made of plutonium
the moon is made of much the same stuff that the earth is made of, which is actually really interesting and evidence that the moon used to be part of the earth
it has no more selenium than the earth does

@Felthry Uranus and Pluto would probably be rather different if that was the case...
@windyorigami I doubt they'd exist! And an explosion that big would probably not be good for any other planets in the same solar system.
