in French, you're supposed to put a space before a ! or ?, like this !
does that mean that instead of "this!!!!", in French you would write "this ! ! ! !"? Or would you write "this !!!!"?

@Siphonay Sometimes we wonder what the french orthography people are thinking. At least make it something you can actually type on a keyboard!

@Felthry I mean I can and do type them because my layout allows me to do it with shift + space
Also yeah French has been made artificielly difficult when it got unified so lower class people would have a harder time learning it

also to be super pedantic (most people don’t do it because it’s not easily accessible with the standard French keyboard layout) the proper typography is not a regular space space, but a fine unbreakable space
