all audio formats save for one old one cease to exist, but you get to pick which one it is. you are given the following options, which do you pick?
@FreyaManibrandr what are K7 tapes?
-F
@Felthry Casette, it'a a French contracton. ka-sept
@Felthry we immediately voted for reel-to-reel because we think it'd work well for playing, recording, and archiving, but tefifon sounds pretty great :D :D

@packbat@dragon.style @Felthry@awoo.space it's been a while since I saw the Techmoan video about tefifon recordings so I can't quite remember what his conclusions were.
@Felthry are cds not old enough for you
@DialMforMara I wanted to specifically limit it to analog formats
-F
@Felthry that tracks, pun intended
@DialMforMara that way you don't get one with a massive, clear audio quality advantage over the others; all of these have some form of inherent lossiness
-F
@Felthry I was trying to weigh the potential of stretching cassette tape against the potential of fingerprints and scratches on a CD
@DialMforMara I don't believe we've ever encountered a problem with cassette tape being stretched? But we're on the young end of people who've used cassettes, never had a walkman or anything
-F
@Felthry I like the K7 tapes. :3
