venting, utilities stuff, very annoyed

very frustrated at centurylink now

they advertise a 940 megabit symmetric plan for $65/mo, or 100 megabit symmetric for $50/mo, if i try to get it by their main website

but the apartment complex has a contract with them that apparently locks us into paying $80/mo if we want 1 gigabit symmetric, or $60/mo for 100/50

why

why the *fuck* can we not get the cheaper version of the same plan solely because the only apartment complex in the area with openings has some kind of deal with them
-F

just... does anyone know what can be done here

can someone provide *some* kind of help
-F

just, how does this make any kind of sense, to anyone
-F

like $65/mo is already more than we'd want to pay for internet but fuck if we're paying that much we'd better be getting gigabit for it

and they're not even offering us symmetric

despite the fact that they do offer it

because we're at this apartment complex we just Can't

why

i can't even explain why this is so intensely frustrating to us but i am very much fixating on it right now and i can't stop being frustrated and i can't do anything except be frustrated right now and it's just Bad

Follow

i appreciate the people trying to commiserate and offer support but right now that only seems to be making us more frustrated for some reason

i don't know why

i just want this to not be a thing we have to deal with
-F

i would really, really appreciate people who are able to explain this in detail and help us understand what we can do to fix it though
