Everyone knows about light-emitting diodes, but did you know there are also light-emitting capacitors? that's what EL wire is!
there's also light-emitting resistors (more commonly called incandescent light bulbs), but we're not aware of any light-emitting inductors

@socks the dual of a capacitor; where capacitors are I = C·dV/dt, inductors are V = L·dI/dt
-F
@socks basically where a capacitor limits how fast voltage can change, an inductor limits how fast current can change
-F
@socks because Physics, inductors are physically larger and heavier than capacitors and so whenever possible they're avoided in electronics, so you'll see a lot more capacitors than inductors -F
@Felthry Okay, I don't quite understand the concepts well enough to get that but it is appreciated
@socks that's fine! happy to explain further if you ever want me to
-F
@Felthry Ooh, neat!
@Felthry What's an inductor
