thoughts on spirituality

honestly we're not particularly spiritual people but the types of spirituality that appeal to us most are the ones where the deities/spirits/what-have-you are beings you treat as equals. not some inherently superior beings that you should worship but just, neighbors, maybe friends, maybe wary enemies, people to respect but not worship

this was prompted by seeing a post @Kyresti made about how they also tend to not like considering gods/spirits as superior or inferior, but i didn't want to butt in on a conversation we're not part of

@Felthry

I can get behind that. I like that kind of mutual relationship between spirits and mortals.

re: thoughts on spirituality

@dodec the christian god has always seemed... well, abusive. telling people to worship them and threatening damnation if they don't, but also trying to gaslight people into thinking they're the pinnacle of benevolence

i also just don't like thinking of anyone or anything as superior or inferior to anyone or anything else.

@Felthry @dodec ....yeah. All this is where we're at too.

thoughts on spirituality

@Felthry @Kyresti yeah tbh the idea of "worship" just leaves me feeling itchy but it's totally a thing to conceive of gods as like, a different kind of person, maybe who can influence things and is less limited than humans, but ultimately a being you can know and interact with.
