well, yesterday was a huge mess but
now that things are a bit calmer: we made Progress at work yesterday! got the tek 370A communicating with labview and got it set up to record some measurements
this was a Major Pain because making a device from the 80s communicate with software from 2020 is not easy
made worse by the fact that the 370A predates SCPI so instead of using the standard commands it has its own idiosyncratic ones
at least it does use gpib

it's not all bad though! the 370A is a classic machine, built in that time period when things came with actual service manuals and were ultra-reliable. the thing works just as well today as it did 35 years ago, more than you can say for modern devices
real easy to use too. no complicated menus or anything, everything's done by buttons on the front panel
