@Felthry as much as we have a soft spot for the intellivision, we've spent a lot more time playing 2600 than we have anything else on this list...

@IceWolf @limni space invaders and breakout are fun but ultimately it's really the third-generation systems and later that are really worth playing as more than just a novelty

@Felthry @IceWolf we got ours from goodwill sometime in the early 00s back when thrift shops were good for older retro games, and ended up giving away our whole collection to a friend in college. but honestly this is a system we're perfectly cool with just emulating.

@limni @IceWolf yeah it's not exactly a system known for its great games, mostly known for its pioneering nature
-F

@limni the 2600 is actually the only one of these we've personally played

should see if that still works sometime...

@Felthry our first instinct was to vote Atari 2600 but we wanted to give Jerry Lawson's old videogame console the shoutout!

...I wonder if we played any of them besides the Atari ... I feel like it's possible but we don't remember.

@packbat we aren't actually sure who jerry lawson is?

eye contact in preview re: jerry lawson

@Felthry Jerry Lawson - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jerry_La - is one of the engineers involved in the production of the Fairchild Channel F, and widely credited as the father of the videogame cartridge. We don't know much about that history but we wanted to celebrate that innovation.
