it occurs to me that our excessive expectations for post-game content in video games is probably a consequence of pokemon crystal being our first video game

the game that gives you an entire second world map, eight additional bosses, and one extra super-boss, along with (minimal) additional story, after you beat it

just once i'd like to see another game live up to our expectations for post-game content

honestly at the very least have a game-beaten state where the bad guy you just spent thirty minutes killing in an epic multi-phase boss battle is, you know, actually gone and stuff, and you can see the effect of that on people and places

new game + is kind of a cop-out, and the whole thing most games do of like, put you back outside the final dungeon in the game state you were in before entering it but now there's bonus stuff unlocked now

@Felthry We still prefer new game + to just having to start all over when replaying the game!
