tales of vesperia has some *really* complicated mechanics that no one is ever going to discover without digging into the code

one that we learned about yesterday: there's a hidden spell called mahjong that one character can learn. This spell deals out a mahjong hand of 13 tiles, doing 1 damage per tile to the enemy targeted.

If you somehow manage to get a winning hand, it then does additional damage to all enemies depending on what hand it was.

if you manage to get 13 orphans, one of the rarest yakuman in mahjong, you will do 32,000 damage to all enemies, more than any other attack in the game does to even a single enemy, yes including ultimate attacks ("mystic artes")

oh yeah and it also does 20% more damage in the evening. Nothing in the game tells you this, it just does.

also that initial 1 damage per tile goes up for each time you use the spell, to a maximum of 100 damage per tile dealt

Follow

again, the game does not tell you this or even hint at it

it just happens
