it occurs to me that when we first got into the Tales series, playing Tales of Symphonia as a kid, it was right after we'd been playing Ocarina of Time, and since that was the only other game in which context we'd heard the term "dungeon", we were expecting something way more interesting when we got to that game's first dungeon
it was a pretty big disappointment, both how short it was and how uncomplex it was, and it's a good thing we didn't just put the game down there
