okay, turns out it's not our SNES that's broken, because it plays some games fine
it seems like something's wrong with our copies of super mario rpg and chrono trigger, which, great, both of those are more expensive than a new snes
going to have to see about fixing it

with luck they just need cleaning but i want to get a screwdriver to open it up anyway, probably need to replace the batteries anyway
