time itself is weak and malleable, history isn't nearly as set in stone as you'd expect

people study this phenomenon, with one notable occurance being referred to as the "dragon break", if you ever see that term around. it's well documented that some years just didn't happen, or happened differently for different people

this begins to make more sense when you consider the nature of the world as being part of the Dream of the Godhead, and the ability for characters of the dream to break free of its "script" by achieving CHIM. the entire cosmology of the elder scrolls has a layer of artificiality built into it

@monorail @BatElite the ending of skyrim involves intentionally causing a second dragon break, though it was more just kind of bending it back on itself rather than actually shattering time like the first one was
