@Felthry my favorite condiment is Algerian Sauce fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sauce_al

It’s a sauce that was popularized by kebab joints in Belgium that spread in France and eventually started to be commercialized in grocery stores.

It’s usually composed of peppers (sometimes harissa), other spices, tomato, onion and sometimes radish

@Siph That sounds interesting and now I want to try it!

@Felthry

What would you call that one sauce various restaurants use as their branded sauce that's just a mix of mayo, ketchup, pepper, garlic salt, and paprika, and commonly used to dip chicken tenders and fries?

@Tathar most restaurants call it fry sauce, I guess? We've never bothered with it since we don't like it

food thoughts re: condiment of choice

@Felthry the real answer is probably soy sauce but apparently that's a major component of teriyaki sauce? we should try teriyaki sauce on things

or, like, get some mirin and sugar for cooking with and try it that way

@packbat A surprising number of east asian sauces are based on either soy sauce or fish sauce!

@packbat i can't blame them though, it makes for some great sauces. we should probably try some that we haven't tried before next time we go to the grocery store, iwrc the international section is pretty well-stocked at the one we go to
