@codl english has like twenty vowels, i wouldn't be surprised if that's one of the hardest things to learn if you're coming from a language with a more sensible number of them

@Felthry i don't think french has a more sensible number, it's just a slightly different set
there are definitely vowels in english that collapse to a single sound in my brain unless i am trying very hard
