I fell behind on reporting the goldfish migration. We brought in 17 of them yesterday, including the two biggest fish and the other fish that we've had looked at by the fish doctor [*]. So this is 19 of our fish brought inside, with about that many still in the pond outside yet.
[*] She's had what seems to be an ovarian cyst, so looked like she swallowed a golf ball. But the cyst has shrunk a lot and now it's just a little bulge I'm not sure you'd notice if we didn't point out.
Got eleven more goldfish inside, for thirty of our pond's fish brought in. Still have a trap out there; there's something like a dozen or so that might be out there yet.
Also we've brought a trap inside so that we can bring the bluegill and perch from the goldfish heist back to the native waters where they'll make ecological sense. (They are local species.)

@Felthry The goldfish they just got at a pet store. ... There *is* a pond at a nature center nearby that's been overrun with released pet goldfish, but we wouldn't try to make that mess worse.
@Felthry These are some of the fish we rescued from the neighbor's pond when they moved. They didn't quite explain where they came from; we *think* they were fished out of the local rivers as there's plenty of parks nearby with recreational fishing. (There's one *almost* in walking distance that we figure to be the release spot.)
