i wonder what the statistical distribution of raindrop sizes is like

are they mostly the same size? or are they spread across a range of sizes? is the variance within a single rainstorm less than that between different rainstorms?

Well, I can at least offer this: raindrops aren't shaped like the cartoons of raindrops. They don't have a pointy end, and the round end is on top. gpm.nasa.gov/education/article
