I was on a small island in a house carved out of the reddish rock, weathered over years into soft rounded shapes. It was a bright morning, and I was looking for my housemate to see if she felt the same way I did — that there were two versions of me inhabiting the same body somehow. I "remembered" the same thing happening in a book I'd been reading, but in that one it was because parallel worlds were merging and anyone who got merged also had their weight doubled. There was also a cat who'd been merged times ten and weighed about 100 pounds as a result.
