I started listening to the audiobook of the lauded 2020 Headly translation of Beowulf -- the one with the opening lines,

Bro! Tell me we still know how to
talk about kings! In the old days,
everyone knew what men were:
brave, bold, glory-bound. Only
stories now, but I'll sound the
Spear-Danes' song, hoarded for
hungry times.

And y'all, it's an absolute joy to listen to. Reading Beowulf as a story about men flexing on each other and then bringing that sensibility into the forefront of a contemporary translation is a stroke of genius.
