got my new drawing tablet today and the timeline went

t+0:00 unboxig vidoe
t+0:07 wait. i don't have type-c nor a free hdmi port on my desktop. fuck it i'll try on my laptop
t+0:08 it doesnt work
t+0:10 i installed digimend and it works :) year of linux on t
t+0:11 how the fuck do i map a digitizer to a display again
t+0:25 to t+1:45 not noticing that by installing xf86-input-wacom earlier i had made the tablet use the wacom driver so none of my desperate xorg.conf edits were doing anything

this would probably be easier if i used a desktop environment

anyway i should go out and get a dp to hdmi converter

@codl you don't need a converter, just a dp to hdmi cable--displayport is required to be able to operate in hdmi mode, outputting hdmi signals on the same connector if you plug it into an hdmi display device

@Felthry that's what i meant by converter

i guess the word i was looking for is adapter

@codl yeah converter implies active electronics, adapter is passive
