it's really frustrating to see people refuse to engage with this beyond it being a blanket statement. like, even when it's being acknowledge that reality is complicated, there's this implicit message that, therefore, it's not true.
and it's like, no, a Gordian knot still has a trillion tangles and loops but that doesn't mean it's less of a knot. It's not like it's a bunch of coincidences.
Sometimes the end result really is as simple as "the police are unsalvageably willing oppressors"
