I got the super cheap storebrand flake-based cereal this week because the namebrand stuff feels so expensive.
It tastes like lightly sweetened cardboard, or like someone fed a bunch of waffle cones through a wood chipper. It's weird.

@trysdyn in the future, if you want cheaper cereal that still tastes good, look for the stuff that's sold in bags. malt-o-meal in particular is a brand that looks like it's trying to be generic versions of more well known cereals, but it's a brand owned by Post and afawk the stuff in those bags is literally the same as the stuff in the Post-brand boxes, just a fraction of the price
