Father-in-law: Alexa, is 'y' a vowel?

Alexa: According to Patent Filing Online dot com, bottles can sometimes be used to contain liquids.

Me: [ Falling over sideways at a Zippy The Pinhead scene happening in real life. ]

@Felthry My father-in-law often quizzes Alexa for stuff it couldn't be expected to answer ("Who was Patrick Macnee in Scrooge?"), but this really should have been answerable.

@Austin_Dern i wonder if it misheard vowel as bottle and then parsed it as "why is a bottle"

@Felthry Yeah, that's the most plausible explanation for how it parsed the question. I love that it found a source for "bottles can hold liquids" though, and that it was some patent-filing outfit. That's just perfect.

@Austin_Dern where else but legal documents would you find the obvious explicitly stated?
