@ziphi it's very much program music, meant to evoke a feeling of a relaxing boat ride down the river Vltava (also known as the Moldau) and seeing the central european countryside and towns pass by
we learned about it when the high school string orchestra we were in played an arrangement/excerpt of it and it's just... well in addition to being really nice to listen to it's also really fun to play, one of the few pieces that actually bothers to give interesting roles to the viola too

@ziphi The viola section and *especailly* the contrabass always get forgotten
we played viola in that orchestra because there were like 15 violinists, 2 cellists, one bassist, and only one other violist and that felt really imbalanced, and we didn't want to do bass because that thing's huge, don't want to lug that to school every day
