@Felthry YouTube has a special category for short videos with a separate UI

https://www.youtube.com/shorts/LrPGbyXEUCw is an example, the one we clicked on today

the idea is short videos - I think a minute, like TikTok - that can be easily absorbed and then scrolled past to something else, so instead of a UI where there's a video with a description below, you have a video with more random-ass videos below that just keep going or some thing, I don't care, I don't want this

i was confused by "shorts always show as shorts" and was confused by how it would be bad that they weren't lying about what things were?

@packbat we have seen things with a little "shorts" marker by the video name and thought that's what you were annoyed about? like you didn't want it there

we have never clicked on one of those recommendations because i don't think any of them appealed to us at all (we prefer long-form stuff in general)

@packbat so i'm guessing "show as shorts" means the thing you mentioned with them having a different UI and more videos on the same page? in which case i agree, quit trying to make new things when the old thing was fine
