@patchwork our first RP character (who may have become Alaric? or Alaric just took hir shape) was a mightyena shapeshifter and we still always want to have a mightyena named either Alaric or Amelia (the character's name) when playing a pokemon game

ours is admittedly a little more recent — we just really latched on to the poochyeena/mightyena you get early on in ORAS and they became more and more of a crush as we got farther into the game

maybe we'll start naming any masc yeens we catch in future playthroughs after rennet — he's pokemon AU limni's companion/partner pokemon for sure

@patchwork they're a really underrated species! i don't blame you for not really appreciating them until recently

and yeah we have a thing in pokemon games that we always want to get
- a quilava named Felthry
- a vulpix or ninetales named Rosemary
- a growlithe or arcanine named Rosemary (preferably opposite gender to the vulpix, for multibody nonbinary feels)
- a mightyena named Alaric or Amelia

hah, a few more headmates and we might end up with a full team

@Felthry for us, in games that have them, we try to always at least get our favorites, which are mightyena (hot), ribombee (they're cute and they make me happy), girafarig (minor crush but mostly just think they're cool), and lycanroc (midday, preferably; another crush)

@patchwork yeah we go for favorites too! but usually out of whatever appeals to us of the normally available ones in the game, we weren't too torn up over not being able to get certain favorites in swsh but we were upset there was no mightyena

@Felthry these don't correspond to headmates, though, so we'll usually just improvise a name folliwing whatever naming pattern we started in a given playthrough

@patchwork we've always been really close to pokemon, so all three of us who are here right now are pokemon to some extent. Anden also originated as a lati@s anthro, dunno how close they feel to that form anymore though
