i had no idea wacom was a japanese company

learned this from a video that was all pissy about how to pronounce wacom

"dont say [japanese allophone of wacom], say [japanese allophone of wacom]"

bro... youre saying the brand name too americanly

to be clear the two pronounciations featured in the video were /wɑ/ (correct, very nihongo) and /wæ/ (bad, a japanese person would look at you like you were making otherwordly sounds if you said it like that)

@codl i'm sure most people speaking english are pronouncing most japanese company names very wrong, and probably most people speaking japanese pronounce most english company names very wrong

but as long as the point gets across i don't think it matters, corporations don't care

also brands tend to have official foreign pronounciations that are meant to be easy to pronounce, not correct. see: ubisoft
