y'ever think about how the idea that someone must be "at fault" for causing a motor vehicle accidents is completely asininine liability doctrine.

It's wanting to pretend that if people were to just behave, accidents would never happen. Rather than, y'know, operating a motor vehicle being inherently risky.

@starkatt i'm pretty sure this is because of lobbying by the automobile industry back when cars were a new thing, to make people feel less like the car itself was dangerous and more that people were dangerous
