Castlevania SotN

I decided to give Symphony of the Night another shot

This time I found the basilard, which as it turns out, makes early game enemies significantly less of a pain to deal with. It's kind of weird to hide the item that makes your game not annoying to play behind a secret, but whatever, I'm not a designer

With that, I'm actually having fun! I really like how unique enemies feel. Like in metroidvanias, enemies tend to feel very samey, just platforming obstacles pretty much. Here there's some strategy and pattern learning even for basic enemies

And it looks good! Really, really good! The pixel animation in particular is absolutely stellar. If a game looking like this came out today I would say "oh, that looks rad"

Also I got an item that said "transforms into a wolf" and I didn't know what button it was so for the longest time I was like

Yeah that sounds rad, I wanna be a wolf, how do I do that
