@patchwork are you a "well written datasheets with lots of detail" kind of person, or a "datasheets 3/4 in a language you don't understand, without even a theory of operation section" kind of person?

@Felthry at the moment, definitely the former. i'm still very much a noob when it comes to electronics. but i can definitely see how the latter could be a vibe
@patchwork oh we very much prefer the former, and we've been doing this for nearly a decade. hate having to work with the latter

@patchwork if we're not working under budget constraints, we like to use LT parts because they have *such* good documentation, and almost all of their parts have simulation models

the context on our end is a bit of poking around on an old piece of hardware we botched a reflash on. tryna figure out if it's a parts machine or if we can salvage it somehow
