Idea we just had that I'm sure someone has had before:

"esports" is really more "virtual sports". if we want true esports it should be programs competing against programs

so let's define e-wrestling as two programs running on the same machine, both allowed to just do whatever, where the first one to crash loses

each program would be designed to make every attempt possible to cause its opponent to crash while being as crash-resistant as possible

@Felthry that exists! I forgot its name but one time when I decided to read the descriptions of every open source game on Wikipedia I encountered several like that where you set up two programs and they attempt to crash each other by mucking about with the others memory

@Felthry I'm remembering a white paper from some game devs who built a genetic algorithm for their strategy game AI & turned it loose to evolve

and mainly what the AI did was discover convoluted, bizarre ways to crash the game if it was losing, things no human tester would have ever tried
