@Felthry @Oneironott Remember, the Amazonian giant river otter can grow up to six feet long from nose to tail, and my definition of "dire" as a prefix generally means "at least the size of, or similarly sized as to be rideable like, a motorcycle." Both of these sizes are very cuddleable, one is just far more impressive when it comes to living plush critters.
