@Facet It's hard to top Kefka and the literal end of the world.
@FreyaManibrandr Square already puts capital over writing integrity. If it's like other -2s, they wouldn't want to top it, just keep rehashing things that were popular in the first whether it ruins what the previous built up or not.
@Facet Their fans will eat them alive if they ever made an FF6-2 lol
@FreyaManibrandr @Facet That said, I could appreciate it if they gave VI the VIIR treatment. *that* would be pretty cool.

@FreyaManibrandr @Felthry If it's anything like TAY, here's how it would go: Years after 6, half the cast has retired from fighting and done something particular to rebuild. Many characters have children or successors. But people start finding magicite again somehow, and learning magic again somehow. And it turns out, some specter of Kefka's undying evil has resurfaced, and magicite is coming back to combat it even though that's literally not how it works.
@FreyaManibrandr @Felthry Most characters have something happen that completely undermines their identity from 6, or otherwise gives them a new growth direction that would be okay in a better game.
@FreyaManibrandr @Felthry And the final conclusion is something completely out of left field that illegitimizes half the franchise.
@Felthry @Facet I'd be happy if it's literally just a redo of the opera scene, but with a proper recording of a full orchestra playing and singing the score.
