It really sucks the punisher skull has only really become a way of detecting who's a complete piece of shit.

@iBolt07 oh we've seen loads of bumper stickers of those

@Felthry generally it's used as a dogwhistle to promote "use of force by police"

@iBolt07 @Felthry Yeah, even though the comic's writers have *explicitly* had Frank Castle say that cops should not look up to him or aspire to be like him.

@LexYeen @Felthry oh exactly, just like the American flag it's been abducted by disingenuous assholes that want to excuse their abhorrent beliefs with a logo that holds the moral high ground.

@Felthry The "Punisher skull" is the logo used by the comic book character Frank Castle, who operates as the hyper-violent mercenary The Punisher.

I like The Punisher, because Frank Castle's story is that of someone who doesn't want other people to be hurt the way he has been, and he uses extreme violence against some of the worst people on the fictional planet he exists on.

I don't like the majority of fans of The Punisher, particularly ones who display the skull logo prominently, because they see Frank's actions as aspirational.
