Part of why I don't write anymore is a lot of my hangup in real life: I get uneasy and feel icky having to describe smells, especially bad smells, gross things, and other unpleasant things that make my skin crawl. It's beyond a feeling of "I don't like it". It's a straight up aversion.

@iBolt07 hmm, do you feel that smells have to be described? We could read an entire novel that never makes mention of any scent and probably not notice.

@Felthry sometimes I feel like in order for writing to be taken seriously and be immersive it needs to describe things in detail. I know it's probably not a requirement but it's almost always present.

@iBolt07 I wouldn't say it has to be described in *every* detail though
