Trial run on runecrafting. It was "alright" for my first attempt at a woodworking project since I failed that class way back in highschool. Lessons learned:
1. You'd think that with a 10,000-tree forest right behind your backyard you'd be able to quickly find some nice downed branches to craft with; WRONG. 90% of it is rotten, and 95% of what's left is too wet or springy. I *think* I used Beech wood here but I'm not an arborist and it's winter
2. Need max heat on the woodburning pen. Required.
3. If you notice purpleish-gray shading around some of the runes, especially the Ansuz rune, I think either my new steel file had some residue left from machining, or those are friction burns. Either way, the filing step needs to be done because they're quite itchy without it so I'll need to find an approach to minimize discoloration going forward.
