@websterleone they shouldn't be critical but i'd need to examine the circuit (can you trace out a schematic? any idea on the part numbers of stuff?) to get any real idea of what the right order of magnitude would be

@websterleone yeah they're some kind of snubber, but you need to get the order of magnitude right for a snubber even if the precise value doesn't matter that much

@websterleone by "shouldn't be critical" i meant the exact value shouldn't be critical; they are most likely necessary for reliable operation

@Felthry Looks like a series resistor and filter cap for the IR receiver (transistor maybe?). They are very much needed but I have no idea and the 1.5nF / 3.3kOhm parts I bodged in didn't work so I don't know. I should have just bought a new one instead of replacement switches, wouldn't have been much more than that plus the shipping on a batch of 0402 parts. =3=
