Dwarf Fortress

I think I may be building my fortresses too quickly which is annoying because I want to get into mining deep. I haven't had the opportunity to dig anything beyond what I need to stay alive. I'll try to make a new fortress today and see if it's possible for me to build up steady food and water supplies. I made a mountain home that kept running out of water despite having 3 wells. Maybe it didn't help the well shaft was 60 units deep

@oceanotter It's usually easiest to start on a map with a river, and just let your dwarves get water frmo the river

@Felthry it's very important that I get fresh water accessible underground where I cannot be disturbed. I've considered making canals or underground aquifers as sources of water

re: Dwarf Fortress

@oceanotter yeah, aquifers can get you an underground water source too

we tend to just have a section of river that we fortify
