nintendo switch & 3DS
the switch replaced the 3DS, but it was never really a suitable replacement. i just don't think the switch has the form factor or battery life to beat it as a portable console
it also doesn't help that it has to be plugged in from the bottom during the much more frequent recharge cycles, making it impractical to use undocked on a low battery
it's just a lot less comfortable for us to use a switch in bed versus the 3DS

@Felthry i'm almost certain it's because they decided the switch would be a docked console before considering UX
there's no real reason they couldn't have had two USB ports. the 3DS actually had a separate connection for docked charging
