According to the internets, there is a single disputed study saying Betelgeuse could go supernova in a few decades.

Which the internet has taken to be absolute truth because it sounds like it would be important.

So, uh, don't believe everything you read on the internet.

It would be interesting though.

@ziphi there's been a lot of studies on betelgeuse as a very old star that's near going nova, and scientific consensus is something along the lines of "it should go nova within the next century, give or take a million years or so"
