growing up, did your family/caregivers/however you were raised have need for a social benefits program (like SNAP in the US, or affordable housing programs, etc) to pay for living expenses, or did they have enough income to Just pay for them?
it doesn't matter if they got said benefits, or if they were neglectful, this is mostly about family income levels bc i'm curious about class background in my region of fedi

@MindmeshLink i am curious to see the results, but we do not actually know the answer for our family--we have few memories of our childhood and definitely don't know specifics, but i know that whne we were real little our parents definitely weren't well-off
