ESL speakers you have a super power, you can make some native english speakers inexplicably upset by stating some facts about your native language's grammar
this works for any pair of languages to be fair but it's easier to find some native english speakers on the internet
@codl this is a dangerous technique though, because there are few languages that are as upsettingly shoddy as English

@codl @batterpunts @halcy what's really weird about that specifically is that it's never taught to 1L english speakers!! we just kinda, pick it up and don't realize it exists until someone points it out
