One of the features of the glitch.social branch of mastodon that I like is the ability to collapse toots. I don't like how hard it makes it to tell whether a toot is collapsed. There's an option to give it an "image background", which seems to use plain black (which I like) if the user doesn't have a... whatever you call it image set for their page, but if they do have one, it uses that image. Which is fine in some cases, but other times it's an annoying gif that I'd really rather not see.
