Does anyone have issues with allowing gnusocial.me to federate with us?

Mitchell is pretty cool & worth trusting, plus they are running on the Mastodon stack so you can trust the software to work the same as ours.

@vahnj I don't have any specific issues, though it might be good to figure out criteria for when you'll include more instances. I kind of viewed this place as a sort of quiet room of masto that acts almost as a test environment (with regards to rules and moderation strategies more than software), which doesn't work so much if we slowly allow other instances that are friendly - instead it's more of a curated garden, I suppose. Both are fine.

@Fenreliania My #1 thing is making sure that folks are OK with this space, without disinviting folks for no reason

Realistically speaking, blocking all federation kind of goes against the nature of the software, but at the same time the software is overzealous about spreading posts across the fediverse

So I'm inclined to re-add Mitchell's instance to federation, but I want to make sure folks are cool that his instance is interacting with us.

@vahnj Well I don't have any particular issue with it, like I said. My main desire is just to keep the feeling of the place being quieter and on the fringe. Whether that lines up with other peoples' desire I dunno.
